What do your customers really think of your business?  Do they have any gripes that might lead them to look elsewhere?  Asking for feedback can provide important insight into their buying patterns, as well as offering useful sales intelligence and flagging potential danger signs.  Use free online survey software (such as SurveyMonkey) and where possible, ask a third party to approach customers on your behalf – it may be awkward or uncomfortable for customers to provide an honest assessment of your services if questioned directly by you.  Good feedback can also be used (with the customer’s consent) as the basis for a brief testimonial to help win new business.
