Looking to raise your profile in your local community?  What better way than getting your name in the press!  Introduce yourself to the business journalists writing for your regional papers.  Invite them to any events you hold.  Support any initiatives they run.  Offer your opinion or advice on issues affecting local businesses. Re-post their Social Media updates where they are relevant to your customers or prospects.   If you want your business to be seen as a leader in your industry or the ‘go to’ name for your service/product, you need to project an identity that reflects this desire, and local press is particularly effective when your customer/prospect pool has a regional bent.
